Eating Disorders

I have worked extensively with adults and adolescents in recovery from eating disorders.  My expert skill-set developed while working as an individual, group, and family therapist at the inpatient, partial, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care at the Center of Pediatric Eating Disorders at Children Medical Center of Dallas.  I also add therapeutic techniques to our work to increase mindfulness, self-compassion, and the expression of feelings – all of which facilitate the recovery process.

Who’s On the Team?

Treating individuals with eating disorders really requires a team.

So who’s on mine?

  • Dietitian Nutritionist

  • General Medical Practitioner (i.e., PCP, Internist, Pediatrician)

  • Family Therapist

Each team member plays a vital role in ensuring that clients are receiving wraparound care to address their eating issues and to increase the likelihood of supportive and successful treatment.

What if I don’t know what to do?

All good. You’re not going to always have the answers. Let’s set a time to meet, so we can talk about it.

How do we get the answers we need to inform treatment?

  • Comprehensive review of your history, medical, family, and psychological

  • Lab work determined by your medical professional to assess any medical conditions that need to be addressed

  • Developing a comprehensive plan with your dietitian nutritionist to ensure nutritional safety

  • Conversations with you and those who care about/for you to determine how we can all work together to support your recovery.
